Birds of a feather and 11 months

Wow... in just 31 days (roughly) our sweet little baby will be 1 whole year old... its just too soon.  I'll lament in a month, no need to whine every single post about how old she's getting... I'll keep it inside :)

So, whats going on you say? Well, Hannah has had an ear infection, consistently, for about 4 weeks.  She is such a trooper, so happy go lucky, it hardly ever bothers her but when it does and she wakes up and cries, I know it must be pretty bad.  She's had 3 rounds of antibiotics now, thankfully the cough/snot/eye goopy goes away shortly after she starts the medication but that darn ear infection is relentless.
Bryan took her in (such a good daddy!) and it killed him... It was good for him to see how the appointment goes though....  Her pediatrician said she had a build up of ear wax and decided to scoop some out, which I know, is no easy task when babies are mad you're in their ear anyway... but... he scooped some out... and scraped her ear drum as well.  LOVELY!  She bled slightly but was pretty upset, rightfully so.  See, since the first day she was born we've been leery of the pediatrician, sometimes the fit just isn't right.  I thought he wasn't gentle with her but figured that maybe it was just me being an overly protective mother.  As time went on, Bryan and I never formed a bond with him, our personalities didn't match up and I don't think Hannah did either.  Fast forward to a sick appointment and she saw another pediatrician in the same practice (her original one had the day off) and he was really good with her.  He was much more gentle, she didn't scream AS MUCH when he looked in her ears and scooped a little wax out, and she even blew a raspberry at him!  He's very kind and knows how to relate information to the parents so you understand without being condescending... something the other pediatrician didn't do.  Example below:

1 week follow up after being born:
Us:  What should we do if she is choking on something?  How should we help her?  Would you suggest an infant CPR/Heimlich course?
Dr.:  No, you don't need to know how to do that.  Just call 911 if she's choking or not breathing.
Us:  Really?  We shouldn't give her CPR or anything?  Isn't there a youtube video you would suggest. Anything?
Dr.:  Nope, just call 911.

Example 2 (same visit):
Us:  Is normal to hear her stomach gurgle every time she eats?  Is that normal?  It sounds like you can hear the food hitting her stomach.
Dr.: Does your stomach gurgle?  She's a human, a very small human.

Now, I'm sure you experienced mothers are thinking that second question is crazy on our part but that is probably because you may have forgotten what its like to be BRAND new parents...and, it's better to ask than not ask, in my opinion...

Any who, we just were never fans of him but never had a real reason to switch... until now.  So, Hannah has a new pediatrician who doesn't answer stupid questions with stupid answers!  Or make her bleed.   And, as a result of the ear infection, she will be having an ENT appointment this month to discuss possibly getting tubes... and she'll be having a hearing test.  I'm just praying this ear infection goes away and her hearing isn't affected at all.

So, on to a happier note:  She weighs just over 19 lbs (not sure of the exact weight as those specifics aren't remembered as clearly when daddy's take her in lol).  She eats like a champ, LOVES her finger foods, and loves to eat with Mommy.  She will actually walk up to me grunt  anytime I'm eating anything and not sharing with her, something I find absolutely adorable! Come to think of it, she grunts a lot lol... I think her motto is "everything in life can be solved by grunting" haha!  She loves to give kisses and hugs, loves to snuggle, loves scrambled eggs, and a newly developed skill...dancing!  Oh, and as always, loves loves loves Rio (movie)!

Below is a video of her dancing to the intro song to Rio, it's so darned cute!  See you all later!
